Prepare what you desire

I was once confused about what to prepare before any non-trivial events. Later I realized the answer to the question of what to prepare is actually what you desire, rather than what you think the other parties would expect from you.

At this point, the most important and urgent preparation would be the 8-week stay at TOYOTA ITC in California:

1. The first that I desire would be creating more contacts, at least 10 people.
   How to prepare? Start from within the company, reach to other departments, get to know people from other companies once get a chance.  Talk more, smile more.


2. The second would be to gain knowledge from TOYOTA about vehicular communication, current status, potential development, concerns, past attempts, what are the focuses of other researchers.  This will help my thesis a lot.
   How to prepare? First organize what I am capable of, what I am familiar with, be able to describe my resume. Second, prepare lots of ideas and ask for comments.


3. The third.  Take this opportunity to get back in touch with friends in CA.  They would also be a great resource for job opportunities.


4. The fourth, the least important.  Take days to national parks, beaches and Chinese restaurants to enjoy California.  But Friday night might be a great time to bound with some single male employees.
