sshfs

I recently added these alias to add or reset my sshfs connection to Cisco ADS server. These works fine so far, and I don't have to refer this tutorial any more.

With sshfs to ADS server, I can open csharp solution file from workspace directory using Xamarin Studio, build, and run Blueshift.exe.
Same way I was able to access the whole workspace from CLion, but it took forever for CLion to finish parsing ngwc/fed directory.

CSR公益与tech

起源于这篇文章《我叫做谭亚幸。》。这篇自述也是为他的创客CSR打的一个广告。

他们的Corporate Sustainability and Responsibility (CSR)咨询业务，可能还是个小市场，尤其在中国。这个创业公司的特色可能是谭对多样文化和发达国家CSR和NGO的了解，和市场调查的能力。因为做咨询嘛，有市场调查是忽悠的本钱。

ns说志愿者慈善和边缘人物的社会问题可不可以用tech来帮助解决。具体说是tech能帮到多少，在哪方面。

感觉tech不会是决定性的要素，只能是个工具。如果较真儿说所有的tech都是工具，那么tech在这里能起的作用可能不能够举足轻重到区分一个CSR咨询业务的好坏。

首先想到能派上用场的tech工具，是用来采集统计数据做市场调查。想做有针对性的市场调查，就要区分用户，就要采集用户信息。如果目标人群不是网民怎么办。

既然是公益，服务的对象应该是缺乏经济能力的人。不然的话完全可以做成一个产品，让服务对象成为消费者。既然是缺乏经济能力的人，他们接触IT tech的渠道就很有限。要向把IT的工具暴露给这些人，首先需要基础设施和让他们习惯使用这些工具。发达国家遍地有图书馆可以上网，可惜中国没有。

tech还可以作为连接人与人的沟通工具，也许可以在部分CSR项目里用到。同样需要IT的基础设施。

更关键的咨询业务的成功与否，可能取决于人，取决于能否想出来合适的点子。这方面tech如何能帮得上忙？把其他国家的经验汇总成数据库吗？那得要个什么样的搜索引擎。既然google都被封了，用tech来帮助翻墙倒是能帮个很大的忙。

Now four and half month have passed. It was a arbitrary duration I made up to match the relationship that lasted four and half years. Today I met with Chen again and had a lunch at Fremont. It was almost as normal as a get-together with an old friend.

The reading about Liu, Xiaoqing a few days ago left me with a settlement to forgive ex's and move on with a friend. That's the best for me to get out of this relationship. Hanging on to money issue like what father wanted is desperate and will leave me with a potential hateful ex in the worst case. 

I still believe Chen is a good nature girl. Just that some thought she had struck me as immature in my opinion.  In the end I think the world is the better place with her around.

TVWS

Maybe spectrum bands such as VHF and UHF will be used as a not-too-broad-band Internet connection medium of with very large coverage, especially outside large cities. The speed won't be as fast as LTE or WiFi, but the services will have a much wider coverage achieved with less signal towers. It is said the whole UK can be covered with 5,500 towers.

It is counting on there being enough reasonable consumers who know more than just comparing maximal datarate.

So as a counterpart of femtocells for LTE(-A) in large cities, TVWS provide Internet connections to rural areas, where there are less people and more free TV channels. 

Make mistakes

Make mistakes. No worries. You can always survive, and you will learn from them.

But don't make repeated mistakes. Making repeated mistakes means you want to lose, you have given up, you are tired and not thinking.

Security, the big thing

Stunned, after I learnt that how many people are doing security. LWJ, and all her students and grandstudents.

Because there is such a huge need in cloud computing, and search. Because those big companies are all user oriented, and Internet-based. Wyg has also just started to tap into security area, probably in an hope of more fundings. And ECE dpt here at WPI is bringing in two new faculties on security.  That is the need manifested. Customers are so worried about malicious acts in the could. Why do I feel it is pathetic?

It is not in my specialties, for now. But maybe I can make some use of it in future.

he was called Weiwei when we were both little. my mother used to take me to their place to visit his mother, an college friend of my mom. we used to run around in Qingyuan and spend time in the playground with athletic instruments.

now news came saying that he jumped from top of a 12-floor in Qingyuan, where he grew up, where his and my parents studied and lived together.

I haven't met him since primary school. heard that he went to nankai high school and got admitted by qinghua. after coming back from jp after two years of graduate school, he had some trouble finding a job in China, because of his major, but finally started working in bj three months before the tragedy.

words from multiple acquaintances suggested he had some depression and had taken some medicine when in Japan, but somehow he was pushed back to the wave of billions of busy lives of Chinese young people, and lost himself.

this is the first real people I know that killed himself.
